The Focus SB Ambassador Wall Light, introduced at Decorex 2023, now offers four additional finishes: Chocolate Bronze, Unlacquered Brass, Satin Nickel, and Polished Chrome. These options complement the original Jordan Bronze, Satin, and Antique Brass, giving designers more choices for luxury interiors.
The light was created through a partnership between Focus SB, a British manufacturer of high-end electrical accessories, and Gwyn Carless of The Light Yard, a studio known for handcrafted lighting. Carless combined traditional techniques with Focus SB’s Ambassador Square faceplate design to produce a piece that balances artistry and precision.
Each unit is made from solid brass and includes hand-cut glass shades in clear, smoked, or reeded styles. The edges are smoothed by hand, and a Moroccan gold leaf finish can be added. The design also uses Tubular Gold Flex LED filament dimmable lamps, which add a modern element to its classic look.
Steve Moss, the company’s sales and marketing manager, called the collaboration unique. The range earned the 2024 Lighting category at the SBID International Design Awards, confirming its place in the luxury market.
The Ambassador Wall Light is part of a larger system that includes matching light switches, sockets, and other accessories in the same style. This allows designers to create a consistent look throughout a space.

At the same event, Focus SB unveiled the Renaissance faceplate, a patent-pending design that removes visible screws for a clean, flat appearance. The Renaissance line features architrave keypad switches, shortlisted for the 2025 SBID Awards in the Product of the Year – Residential category. These switches, available in finishes like Ochre, Roma, and Sienna, are made for luxury homes, superyachts, and heritage projects.
The keypads support programmable momentary action for lighting and blind controls, with options for LED indicators and custom branding. Like the Ambassador range, they are produced in the UK and include a recycling program.
The new finishes and styles show increased demand for customization in high-end design. The Ambassador Wall Light’s handcrafted details suit those who value artisanal quality, while the Renaissance faceplates meet the needs of designers who prefer minimalism and modern function. Both lines share a focus on precision and luxury, traits that define the manufacturer’s work.
Orders for the new finishes are now open, with lead times depending on customization. The ability to match finishes across products lets designers specify a single aesthetic for an entire project. This attention to detail can shape the final look of spaces where every element matters.
