Sacramento holding a community meeting on renovation plans for Sierra 2 Park, Curtis Park

(KTXL) — A community meeting will be held on Feb. 9 regarding renovations to Sierra 2 Park and Curtis Park, the city said. WASHINGTON-ON-THE-BRAZOS TO SOON BEGIN $44 MILLION RENOVATION PROJECT

Big changes are coming at the Washington-on-the-Brazos State Historic Site. (courtesy Washington-on-the-Brazos Historicalfoundation) A $44 million renovation project is set to begin using $34 million secured through the Texas Legislature and $10 million being raised through a capital campaign organized by the Washington-on-the-Brazos Historical Foundation. Site Manager Jonathan Failor says this is a chance to breathe new life into many of the site’s facilities and exhibits. Perfectly preserved 7,000-year-old skeleton unearthed during renovation in Poland

Archaeologists in Poland have discovered the full skeleton of a person who lived around 7,000 years ago near what is now Kraków. The Neolithic skeleton, unearthed during the renovation of a town square in Słomniki, is in excellent condition and was found with fragments of pottery beside it. Based on the style of pottery, which belongs to the linear pottery culture, the burial likely dates to around 7,000 years ago, Paweł Micykan archaeologist with Galty Earth & Engineering Services who excavated the site, told Live Science in an email. Federal government enters $66.7 M funding agreement with Edmonton and affordable housing operators

The City of Edmonton and the federal government are working with affordable housing to fund repairs to existing affordable housing units across the city. The renovations are set to impact Civida and HomeEd-run units and include foundational repairs and electrical upgrades among others. At city hall Friday afternoon, Randy Boissonnault, minister of tourism, announced the federal government is investing up to $19.5 million through the national housing co-investment fund to go toward refurbishments of municipally owned housing.
